On April 1 of this year, the Supreme Court of Florida approved Florida SB 300 prohibiting abortion in Florida after six weeks of gestation unless certain exceptions are met. These exceptions include a pregnancy that is the result of rape, incest, or human trafficking. This new Exception is available until the gestational age of the fetus is more than 15 weeks as determined by the examining physician. This new law will become effective on May 1, 2024 this year. The Court also allowed a ballot initiative to be placed on the ballot in November of this year which will be at the same time Floridians will vote in the presidential election. This initiative will allow a constitutional amendment to Florida law allowing pregnant patients in Florida to terminate their pregnancies up to viability or a gestational age of 24 weeks, returning that right to patients that had been the previous allowance under the law. Hopefully, this ballot initiative will pass.
We understand that for the time being and until and unless the initiative is approved in November, this new law will limit your ability to abortion services after six weeks beginning on May 1st of this year 2024.
Additionally, we are requesting that your transportation or support person wait outside the office and not enter our facility. We will be happy to contact your transportation person to pick you up once you are ready to be discharged from the office.

Please notify our staff before entering the facility if:
-You have traveled outside of the United States recently in the last four (4) weeks
-You have been in recent contact with anyone who has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus
-You have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus
-You have a fever of over 100 degrees
-You have a cough, sneezing, flu-like symptoms, or body aches
Additionally, we are requesting that your transportation or support person wait outside the office and not enter our facility. We will be happy to contact your transportation person to pick you up once you are ready to be discharged from the office.
